• The sea has rocks and islets, both visible and submerged, and the highlight is free diving, with small natural pools and plenty of ornamental fish (Turismo Ilhabela); stand-up paddle and kayaking are also popular along the shore (Prefeitura de Ilhabela).
• A 300-metre ramp with a handrail runs from the road down to the sand, with a disabled parking space at the top. The more adventurous can also reach it over the rocks from Praia Grande (Turismo Ilhabela).
• Artisanal fishing is still going: in June 2026 the city handed over the new Praia do Julião fishing shed, where fishermen from Praia Grande and Julião keep their boats, nets and gear (Prefeitura de Ilhabela).
• In August 2026, work was under way on a new stretch of cycle lane on Avenida Riachuelo, between the Feiticeira police post and Praia do Julião, part of a wider upgrade that includes drainage, paving, pavements and lighting (Prefeitura de Ilhabela).
• Julião is among the neighbourhoods on the 15 km sewage network of the Feiticeira treatment plant, with pumping stations spread across Ilhote, Portinho, Feiticeira and Julião (Prefeitura de Ilhabela), and in 2019 the city authorised the collection network from Julião to Veloso (Prefeitura de Ilhabela).
